Before his appointment to the Senate of Canada, Senator Dan Hays practiced law, bred cattle on his ranch near Pekisko, Alberta and was involved in many community activities and associations. You are invited to get to know Senator Hays on a more personal level, and to become familiar with his interests and his ongoing projects.


 
Biography
Senator Hays is a life-long resident of southern Alberta with strong ties to both its agricultural and business communities.
Hays Converter
Together with his father, the late Harry Hays, Senator Dan Hays developed Canada's first registered pure-bred cattle.
Macleod Dixon
Senator Hays has been associated with the law firm Macleod Dixon since his articling days of the mid-1960s.
The Calgary Stampede
The Hays Breakfast, a tradition started by the late Harry Hays, is the social start of the Stampede.

Military Association
Senator Hays is proud to be both an Honorary Patron of #22 Royal Canadian Sea Cadets Corps Undaunted and an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel of the King's Own Calgary Regiment.

Many Senators maintain both a constituency office and an Ottawa office as part of their overall service to the people of Canada. Senator Hays' constituency office in Alberta is located on 11th Avenue SW in Calgary.
